What Elevation Changes

Pack Rats

The white throated woodrat, the pack rat, is the rodent of the pinyon juniper, the boulder piles and the desert edge from the Tucson foothills up through Prescott, Kingman and the edges of Flagstaff. It builds a midden, a pile of sticks, cactus pads, cholla joints and debris, in a boulder pile, under a shed, in a wood pile or in the engine bay of a vehicle parked outside.
